Great weekend run
Well, we didn’t go camping last weekend at Tin Can Bay, floodwaters had cut the road out there in 5 places, and there was a landslide on the highway. Weird weather, but some good rain. We were all sitting there on Friday, kids disappointed, everything packed, and I thought, blow it, let’s go away anyway. Checked the radar and the weather was least inclement out to the west, so we went to Stanthorpe. We stayed in the most comfortable little farm house and did a lot of walking. On Saturday afternoon, we walked about 8km around the farm exploring, then on Sunday morning I went out for a run up the farm lane. I only did 3 1/2 km, mostly uphill on boggy ground, so it was fairly hard going, but I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable my legs felt. Then on Sunday morning we walked another 8 or so km around the farm. The dogs and the kids loved it, we’ll definitely be going back there. We’ve rebooked Tin Can Bay for October, so Roseanne and I will get our run along the foreshore soon.
Here’s a picture of where I ran on Sunday morning. It was lovely.
