Sore Quads

admin | Audrey | Tuesday, 03 June 2008

Yeah, that ole delayed onset muscle soreness, I’m a bit sore in the quads after all the downhills on the weekend, so am taking it easy. I may well have convinced Hubby that I need them massaged tonight. Heck, it’s his birthday, what else would he rather do than rub my sore legs??

Further to the comment on my last post, my pack is a Deuter Hydro Exp 6, it has space for a big bicycle helmet, but I put my digital SLR in there. Here’s a picture - needless to say, I didn’t pay $109 for it!!!

We’re going to the Caravan and Camping Expo tomorrow, to have a look at camper trailers. Not that it’s within budget, but something to aspire to.

Just received notification from the council that we have approval to have two extra dogs. Thank goodness, saves me creating havoc if my application was declined

This has to be the shortest, blandest blog post I’ve ever done.  Dont’ go getting used to it!!

What’s Your Four?

admin | Audrey | Sunday, 01 June 2008

Didn’t end up going to running club on Thursday night, it was cold and raining and it just didn’t appeal. I didn’t run on Friday either. On Saturday Hubby worked for the first half of the day, then Anja and Roland came over for dinner. We had a really nice night, home made pizzas, a couple of bottles of wine, and a pretty late night. I think my Hubby makes the absolute best pizzas - my favourite has sun dried tomatoes, fetta cheese and artichoke hearts. Yummm!

Auntie Bernie minded the kidlets this morning, and Hubby and I headed out to Bellbird Grove for a 20km trail run. As usual, I found the flattest, evenest bit of gravel road and rolled my ankle, but fortunately it wasn’t too bad and didn’t hurt after a few minutes rest. It was quite a hilly run, part of the route went up and up and up to Camp Mountain lookout, and we did a fair bit of walking, but was a really good workout. One part of the trail hadn’t been used for a while and it was pretty overgrown, but most of it was gravel road. My backpack is very comfortable, I seem to have the straps adjusted so it doesn’t bounce on my bony shoulders. It has a big pouch at the back, ostensibly for a bicycle helmet, but I plan on using it for my digital SLR. Why go to beautiful places to run, and trash yourself, if you don’t take some good photos? I hope Robyn and Sean, who are also in our team, don’t mind the occasional photo stop during the Kokoda Challenge. Speaking of which, Robyn did her first half marathon this morning in 1.54ish, but her knee hurt again, hopefully nothing serious.

These are some pictures of the Bellbird Grove trails. The left is the nice trail, well laid out, easy on the feet, and no chance of getting lost. On the right is the overgrown trail. That was harder, I couldn’t see where my feet were going, and I was constantly worried about rolling my ankle again. Just to finish off, here’s a photo of Hubby and I at Camp Mountain Lookout.

As you can see, I’m still suffering the effects of a Bad Hair Day, which all started about 2 1/2 months ago after a really poxy perm. It has been cut, and recut, and coloured, and every so often I use those straigheners on it, but I think it’ll just have to grow itself out. In the meantime, I do very little without a hat.

Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I’ve found out what causes the red belly button. It’s chafing from the knot of my 2XU shorts, they’re just at that level. None of my others do it. Fortunately, Sportshield stops it happening.

What’s my four? I got this email and the idea is that I fill in my answers and forward it to other people for them to fill in theirs. I usually don’t bother, it’s hard to think of the answers sometimes, and I don’t always have time. I thought I might put my four on my blog, and maybe you, dear readers, might add something similar to yours?

Four jobs I have had in my  life:  checkout chick, landscape gardener, centrelink clerk, veterinarian

Four movies I would watch over and  over: Last Of The Mohicans, Rocky Horror Picture Show, ahhh I can’t think of any more…

Four places I have lived: Scotland, Zillmere QLD, Deception Bay QLD, Burpengary QLD

Four TV shows I watch: Spicks and Specks, The New Inventors, the news, Silent Witness.

Four favourite things to eat: chocolate, Thai food, bananas, does wine count as something to eat???

There’s a ton of other questions but they were trite, and I couldn’t be bothered with them.
